It was June 2013. Marcus had just received abrupt demands to uproot from one T-Mobile and operate at another, roughly an hour away. About that same time, Laurisha had divinely moved into a position with T-Mobile, being hired within the same day as responding to the job offer. The two would meet at the same location.
When the two first met, Laurisha was greeted by a surprising, Hello! Marcus was greeted by her lighthearted demeanor. They quickly began to engage each other—whether competing, joking, sharing thoughts, helping and looking for each other at work. From June to August, they grew to like and appreciate one another as coworkers, but never with any other interest than that.
That would change 08/16/2013. Laurisha had friends visiting town. Thinking the more the merrier, she asked her coworkers to join her to meet her friends—and asked Marcus to drive her! Being new to driving, she didn’t enjoy the idea of doing so at night. she saw enough character in him to say, “I can trust him.”
His response was, “I’ll think about it.” Well, it didn’t work out in the end, as he later responded with “sure” after receiving a text confirmation that she was asking him to get ready.
And so, the two met and made their way to join the six others for a night on the town—but things changed. Out of the group, Marcus and Laurisha were the only two to show up. Everyone else’s plans changed almost instantly. And the two were left alone.
As the two enjoyed each other’s company and conversation, the way they saw each other changed. With the background of work removed, a genuine attraction came upon them and they could see each other for who they really were—answers to prayer.
Now having grown to love each other, almost three years later the two agree with God to become one. It’s amazing what happens by divine appointment. To the praise of the Lord, Christ Jesus.
This is the tale of Providence’s Path.
