HIS STORY

I remember getting that Instagram follow and one or two likes decided to reciprocate by doing the same. Scrolling through that profile got my attention but still didn’t make any move until she reached out to ask questions about work we talked for the first time that night
Although the conversation was geared towards work, I wanted to know her more, so I kept in touch. I got addicted to talking to her every day.
Within a few months, it felt like I knew her forever, so I decided to go visit her in Charlotte. Met her for the first time at the airport and I knew it was just a matter of time before we got married.

HER STORY

God’s plan and timing is greater than anything I could ever imagine! Mike and I are truly blessed and very thankful with how he brought us together. At the beginning of Jan 2019, I was ready to quit my job, after praying and fasting about it, I was told I needed to stay put. My new boss started that year and briefly we talked about our goals and his vision for our office. He told me how he envisioned the dynamics of my team and ways to diversify it. He told me about a team in Indiana that had a large dynamic of Africans in their office and how they were doing very well with the company and suggested I try to network with them. After doing my research and looking over some of their work, Mike was the person I reached out to from that team. I added him on Instagram, congratulating him on one of his awards he recently received, I messaged him and asked him a few questions about work and he quickly replied.
We spent that evening on the phone talking and brainstorming about work. I was surprised the next day with a follow up call from him. This time around it wasn’t a work-related call but a more personal conversation of him wanting to know my story.
We kept in touch and talked every night. Mike was different from any other guy that tried to get my attention. He was direct, he was honest, he was funny, he was charming, he was a hard worker, and he was so intentional! I looked forward to our conversations every night, but I was still very skeptical about him.
In January 2020 I took a trip to Florida with my best friend Ludia for her birthday. We talked about relationships and she kept asking me questions about my dating life and Mike. But she was more intrigued with what I shared with her about Mike. She told me that she felt like I wasn’t giving Mike my full attention and that I should be. She helped me realize that the guy that I had been praying for was right in front of me and I needed to wake up and see it.
A few weeks later, Mike came to visit me in Charlotte and from that weekend we began to grow as a couple, and I knew we were ordained for each other and he would soon be my husband.
With each conversation, we always motivated each other to do better, poured into each other, kept God first and prayed together. On April 23rd Mike proposed to me and I said YES!!!!!!
